Dogs are considered our best friends for a reason. They’re adorable, goofy and more loyal than most of our human best friends.
So when British photographer Nick Ridley, from Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, managed to take fantastic photographs of man’s best friend as they bound through fields with hilarious facial expressions, we just had to make sure you saw them.
Mr. Ridley, 56, uses a fast shutter speed and usually lies on the ground as the dogs run towards him to get the best shots.
This Red Setter is flying through the field, his paws raised to his chest and his tongue sticking out in his excitement, the winding pushing it to the side of his face.
This Cockerpoo’s thick, curly fur is flying around it as the dog runs through the grass, his eyes fixed on Mr. Ridley as he snaps away.
This Griffon Bruxellois’ hilarious expression would probably never have been spotted by the owner without the help of Mr. Ridley and his camera.
The white Boxer was running so fast in its eagerness that its mouth is being pushed back by the wind.
The Dogue De Bordeaux looks hilariously scary as it’s photographed mid-run, its mouth gaping and being pushed back by the wind.
The fast shutter speed allows the photographer to capture a photograph with the water flecks individually visible.
This Cockerpoo is speeding through the grass so fast it’s a wonder it can see anything with its eyes being covered by its long fur.
This Bassett is running so fast with excitement that its eyes are literally bulging and his adorably long, droopy ears are swinging.
Mr. Ridley captured another entertaining photograph of a Pug which is running across the freshly cut grass as it’s poking its tongue out as if the person it is running towards is offering it food.
This pooch looks like a white ball of fluff tumbling through the grass, and like the one before, its long fur is covering its eyes.
Mr. Ridley, with his own cute dog. told the Daily Mail, “I have always specialized in action pictures of dogs and by using high shutter speeds am able to capture amusing moments normally unseen by the dog’s owners.”
He has been a professional dog photographer for more than 30 years.
He added, “popping eyes, flying ears and lolling tongues are what make this set of images special to me.”
