The internet quickly rallied around the adorable vocalist. In a video Maglio uploaded last May 12, the duo was playing “Psycho Killer”. Seated by the fireplace, Maglio plucked and strummed the tune while Tico, in charge of the vocals, sang out in a high-pitched whistle.

The video quickly raked in more than 1 million views and it’s not the only one they have in their playlist.

Maglio explained to a local news outlet that this newfound hobby was born out of isolation. When the pandemic hit last year, Maglio was forced to bunk in his home, especially as someone more vulnerable to the virus.

Despite the isolation, he shared with SNN that he’s still fortunate to have enough outdoor space to sit under the sun.

During the lockdown, he went back to playing the guitar which he learned when he was just 12.

He told SNN:

“I grew up in a family of musicians. My father still plays piano to this day. He encouraged us all to embrace something musical,”

He took a liking to playing the guitar and he admitted he’s still trying to master it 42 years later. This is where his trusty 18-year-old companion comes in.

When Maglio was playing some notes to find ways to have fun during the isolation, Tico began singing along to the music.

Tico struts over the countertop, possessing the confidence we wish we had when singing along to the music. Without an ounce of care from the critics, Tico confidently performed popular hits like “More than a Feeling”, “Sem-charmed Life”, “Horse With No Name”, “Wonderwall”, and an “uncaged” version of “Stairway to Heaven”.

Yellow-headed Amazons are exceptional in the fact that they can learn words and phrases while also retaining tunes and melodies.

They are famed for their ability to learn and sing “opera”.

Being on the boisterous side, their species tend to be loud. This kind of behavior is often heard during dawns and dusks.

Whichever the time they’re perceived to do their “calls”, Tico has no problem helping his human cope with the isolation by participating in his music.

This adorable little rock star can chime in anytime, to any genre, and to any song that Maglio knows how to play.

We can still argue whether or not his singing style is “unorthodox” but we can all agree that he’s a green ball of good clean fun.

Maglio shared with SNN:

“That’s the silver lining of this thing, is how I look at it. You know, we’re stuck at home for goodness sake.”

Watch how this little critter made the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nervous with this performance in the video below!

Please SHARE this with your friends and family and enjoy this adorable mini-concert.
