There are unfortunately many stray dogs roaming the streets in Northeast China. But one organization, Northeast Animal Rescue, is working to help these dogs. They’re trying to give as many stray dogs as they can good homes.
They were doing one of their usual patrols one day when they found a sweet sight.
A lot of stray dogs were on the loose in this community that the Northeast Animal Rescue visited.
Everywhere you look, you can see dogs just roaming about. They tried following one strong-looking dog, but that only led them to another of their stray buddies. The dogs would just watch them pass by and wait for them to move on.
They continued their patrol and happened to meet a lone puppy who suddenly barked at them.
However, the pooch wasn’t barking to drive them away. Instead, it was to inform them about something.
The poor pup even whimpered at them in desperation hoping that they get what he’s saying. Since the people were clueless as to what’s up, they decided to follow the puppy around to see where it takes them.
Surprisingly, that pooch led them to something unexpected.
The rescuers followed the pup into a narrow stairway where they saw the little puppy climb with its tiny legs. Despite his size, the puppy was agile in climbing each step, as if it were doing the same thing over and over every day.
As they reached the top, the rescuers found out as to what this pup was leading them to – its puppy friend.
This pooch probably knew that they were there to save him, but he couldn’t leave his best friend alone. That’s why he’s trying to beg them to take them both.
The poor puppies were living in that abandoned building for some time.
As the team went further up the stairs, they found out where the two had been taking their naps the whole time.
The puppies would huddle at the corner of the building whenever they were tired or anxious. The more they scout the area, the more heartbreaking their situation becomes. Before taking them to their place, they first fed these hungry and thirsty pups.
After their messy meal, one of the rescuers, Fiona, carried them both back to their vehicle. She also named the two male pups Rocky and Buddy.
Aside from doing rescue work, Northeast Animal Rescue does some other things to help stray dogs.
Since it’s impossible for them to rescue all the stray dogs in the community, they limit their rescues to animals who need it the most.
For the other dogs in the area, they would leave some food for them. As they feed these stray dogs, they also met some kind people who take the initiative in feeding these dogs, sometimes even taking them home.
The two pups were doing great with their rescuer.
When the team arrived, they immediately gave the poor pups a gentle bath.
They were quite nervous, but considering it was their first bath, they were doing pretty well. Since Fiona was left mostly in-charge in taking care of these pups, she would spend some time taking them out to play.
The puppies developed a sweet bond with Fiona, and they started learning how to trust people more. What a sweet pair.
